Our take on Serious Scramblers
Platformers commonly center on jumping, but this one makes falling the central movement. Its vertical descent replaces the usual upward jumps and platform-to-platform traversal, while randomized layouts shape each run.
What is Serious Scramblers?
Serious Scramblers is a vertical platformer built around falling rather than jumping.
Players descend through a hazardous pit, avoiding obstacles on the way to a large boss encounter. Levels are randomly generated, and the game includes unlockable characters whose abilities change how a descent plays. Motoko can pause time while still, but the level scrolls faster when time moves. Silhouette always moves at high speed and has fewer gold coins available to collect, while Mummy moves slowly and gathers more coins. The game also includes a leaderboard for recording victories and chip-tune music. Its arcade structure focuses on repeated descents through challenging obstacles, with a boss fight as the finale.
How Serious Scramblers plays
- 01Randomized Levels
- Each descent uses generated layouts, so obstacle arrangements can vary between runs.
- 02Ability-Based Characters
- Motoko pauses time when stationary, while Silhouette moves quickly and Mummy collects more coins.
- 03Victory Leaderboard
- Players can record their wins on a leaderboard.
- 04Final Boss
- A large monster waits at the end of the descent.
