Our take on Second Rate Superheroes
Rather than protecting only the player character, each run adds a defense objective: turrets and a Taunt mechanic are used to hold enemies away from the Mayor. That shifts the usual survivorslike focus toward managing a vulnerable target while building combat power.
What is Second Rate Superheroes?
Command one of 20 superheroes and choose from five sidekicks while defending the Mayor with turrets and a Taunt mechanic.
Runs last 20 minutes and take place across four stages with three difficulty levels. Combat combines tower defense with survivorslike action, using 18 core weapons, 12 rare weapons, four superweapons, four side weapons, and more than 400 upgrade cards. Eighty-four permanent upgrade points support metaprogression, while 86 unlockables include weapons, cards, lore, and music. Each hero has a different play style, and runs can become harder through certain cards or purchasable bonuses. The game includes hand-drawn art and 18 musical tracks.
