ActionIs Scapeland worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players seeking a short farming game rather than a long agricultural simulation
- Players who want property expansion and light exploration in a countryside setting
- Players interested in student-made independent games
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a deep, long-form farming simulation may find the brief scope limiting
- Players seeking clearly explained, extensive gameplay systems may find the presentation too concise
- Players wanting a combat-focused action game may not find the farming and exploration structure suitable
Our take on Scapeland
The peaceful-farming framing is clear, but the suggestion that the game contains a hidden complication is not explained. That leaves the central tonal shift undefined, while the short length is presented only briefly among broader feature labels.
What is Scapeland?
Scapeland is a farming game set in a peaceful countryside.
Players build a small farm, sell plants and animal products, and use the proceeds to expand their property. New areas can be explored, and the game includes encounters with other characters. The store page presents the experience as a brief farming game with varied gameplay, gamepad support, and an element that goes beyond its calm premise. Scapeland was planned, developed, and completed by five students from St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences over four months.
How Scapeland plays
