Is Salad Fields worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Adventure-puzzle players who want more than 100 block-moving challenges
- Players seeking queer and furry themes with surreal characters
- Explorers who want to experience puzzle-game worlds without solving every puzzle
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat, platforming, or action-focused gameplay may find the block-pushing structure too narrow.
- Players wanting a tightly linear challenge may bounce off Exploration mode, which allows the puzzles to be bypassed.
- Players uninterested in queer, furry, or deliberately strange humor may not connect with the presentation.
Our take on Salad Fields
The bounce point arrives at the central block-pushing system: players looking for combat or fast movement have little else to fall back on. Those who want every puzzle to enforce progression may also lose interest once Exploration mode lets them walk through the obstacles.
What is Salad Fields?
Salad Fields is an adventure-puzzle game built around moving blocks through surreal environments populated by unusual characters.
Puzzle mode presents the block puzzles as challenges, while Exploration mode lets players pass through them without solving them. The cast includes Yippie, a gay leather-mouse who makes vegetable doughnuts; Kizzy, a computer worried about Y2K; Myrtyl, an anti-cop queer skater punk; Fancy Andy, an ampersand-shaped butler; and three bird-like characters. The game contains over 100 puzzles, 30 music tracks totaling more than an hour, and multiple locations. Its presentation centers queer and furry themes alongside strange humor and dreamlike settings.
