Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-led campaign or a sequence of varied objectives may find the arena-based score loop narrow.
- Those who want enemies to remain at a steady challenge may dislike the rising threat as a run continues.
- Players looking for a large roster of maps, weapons or enemy types may find the listed selection limited.
Our take on Sad Ghouls
The score-and-combo loop keeps the focus on repeated arena runs, but its listed roster is compact: 4 maps, 8 weapons and 3 enemy types. That trades a broad range of settings and encounters for a tighter set of choices.
What is Sad Ghouls?
Sad Ghouls is a single-player survival shooter set in an arena where enemies keep arriving and grow stronger over time.
Defeating ghouls adds points and builds a combo multiplier; higher combos can provide stronger weapons or new ones. Players choose weapons, a map, options and one of 4 difficulty settings. Harder settings bring tougher enemies that award more points, while easier settings offer a less demanding route to leaderboard scores. The game includes 8 weapons, 3 enemy types and 4 maps.
Weapon strength increases as ghouls are defeated. Special waves include frenzy, devil and wizard encounters. Global leaderboards let players compare scores with friends and other players; the top 10 can have a wizard bearing their name appear in other players’ games.
