Our take on Rust of Steel
Rather than locking the player into a heroic role or a fixed route, the game treats morality, faction choice, and continued wandering as structural options. Its turn-based firearm combat also applies a bullet-penetration mechanic, giving a retro RPG format a weapon-focused framework.
What is Rust of Steel?
Explore the Dixie Wasteland, a post-apocalyptic version of the southern United States, through independent scenarios and a main story.
Character progression allows free stat distribution, while scenario choices can determine which organization to join and how each story ends. Moral choices range from championing justice to remaining neutral or becoming a villain. Combat uses turn-based firearms and an Armor Class system that models bullet penetration. Exploration covers abandoned towns, subway dungeons, corporate laboratories, and shopping malls. Resource management is part of traveling through the ruins and confronting dangerous enemies. Four difficulty settings are available and can be changed at any time without altering experience points or supplies gained.
