Our take on Russian Hunter
Rather than relying on guided waypoints and instant travel, the game replaces them with compass navigation, fixed maps, and map markers. Its genre departure is a more manual hunting workflow, paired with vehicles and a large terrain-focused environment.
What is Russian Hunter?
Russian Hunter is a hunting simulation set in a Russian forest with deer, foxes, and brown and gray wolves.
Animals have recreated appearances and behaviors. The 16-square-kilometre map includes mountains, plains, rivers, lakes, spruce and birch groves, thick grass, and melting snow, with changing times of day. Travel is available through ATVs, motorcycles, and boats. Hunting equipment includes bolt-action rifles, double-barreled shotguns, hunting rifles, and traps. Navigation uses a compass and static maps at parking areas rather than a dynamic map with a location marker. Map markers and equipment replace teleportation.
