Our take on Rooftop Renegade
Rather than treating multiplayer as a separate race, the game turns opponents into active hazards. One side runs for a record while others interfere, then the roles switch so competition becomes part of the course itself.
What is Rooftop Renegade?
Rooftop Renegade is a speedrunning action platformer set among futuristic skyscrapers.
Players guide hoverblades through hazardous stages, choosing paths at high speed while avoiding gunfire, traps, and other threats. Runs focus on precise movement, physics-based controls, ability chains, and setting personal best times. Solo play can be joined by local multiplayer for up to four people in asymmetric rounds: one player runs while up to three others disrupt the course, then a participant can operate as a gunner. Seed-based generation creates stages from different worlds, layouts, hazards, and enemy combinations. Players can select a loadout before each generated run. Controllers are required for local multiplayer.
How Rooftop Renegade plays
- 01Asymmetric Local Multiplayer
- Up to 3 players can interfere with a runner before taking a turn as the defending gunner.
- 02Seed-Based Stages
- A keyword generates courses using varied worlds, layouts, hazards, and enemy groupings.
- 03Ability-Based Movement
- Hoverblade abilities can be combined during high-speed runs while players make rapid route choices.

SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER combines runner gameplay with shooting, while Rooftop Renegade centers on hoverblade movement, route choices, and speedrunning through platforming stages.
