What is Rogue State?
Rogue State casts the player as the leader of Basenji, a Middle Eastern country emerging from revolution.
The central task is balancing the demands of fundamentalists, capitalists, patriots, and liberals while managing cabinet members, neighboring states, and international attention. Players can pursue alliances, tourism, trade, donations, invasions, assassinations, or secret nuclear development. The game includes six clandestine projects, eight possible neighbors, and hundreds of randomly generated events. Leaders have distinct personalities, while cabinet figures require objectives to maintain their support. Each game can develop differently, with male and female heads of state, spoken dialogue, and comic-inspired visual presentation.
