Our take on Robotry!
The leg-by-leg control makes movement the central challenge, but it also commits the game to a gamepad and a more involved way of navigating than standard platforming controls.
What is Robotry!?
Robotry!
is a physics-based platformer controlled with a gamepad: each analog stick moves one robot leg while the body balances on its own. Taking alternating steps, pushing against the ground, and manipulating objects let players move, jump, climb, grab, throw, kick, and crank. The campaign follows orange astronauts across different planets and can be played solo or in local co-op. Co-op supports multiple robots or lets players control separate legs of one robot. After the campaign, multiplayer minigames include Volleyball, Bounce The Pengu, Waypoint Chase, and Gem Hunt, with up to 4 players. Players can also customize robots, collect secrets, and explore the spaceship hub.
How Robotry! plays
- 01Direct leg control
- Each gamepad analog stick controls a leg, while the robot's body balances automatically.
- 02Local co-op
- Two or more players can use separate robots or control different legs of the same one.
- 03Multiplayer minigames
- The post-campaign modes support up to 4 players and include Volleyball, Bounce The Pengu, Waypoint Chase, and Gem Hunt.
- 04Explorable spaceship hub
- The hub serves as a sandbox area where players can look for secrets.
