Our take on Ritual
The emphasis on terror may suggest a physically threatening horror game, but supernatural beings may not harm the character physically. Much of the experience instead centers on searching a house, finding objects, and following a family mystery as tension builds.
What is Ritual?
Ritual is a first-person psychological horror game set in a small house where paranormal events occur.
The player explores rooms and other areas to find objects needed to close a portal to another dimension, opened by William's father before his death. The investigation also examines the father's hidden past and the unknowns surrounding him. As the exploration continues, familiar surroundings become increasingly unsettling and the game builds tension gradually. An update added Spanish translation, new events, new sounds, environmental changes, more detailed objectives, and expanded story-progress information. A screen reference point appears when the player is near objects. The game focuses on psychological effects rather than physical harm from its supernatural beings.
