Our take on Rise of a Legend
Rather than building its RPG structure around quests and a character-driven journey, the game places arena combat and Ludus administration at the center. Progress comes from managing fighters, preparing them for matches, and earning victories, with the gladiatorial setting replacing a conventional adventure campaign.
What is Rise of a Legend?
Rise of a Legend is an action role-playing game played from an over-the-shoulder viewpoint, focused on gladiator battles instead of a traditional quest narrative.
Players run a Ludus, choose and develop combatants, allocate supplies, care for wounded fighters, and ready them for arena contests. Single-player modes build advancement through wins and improved fighter levels, while online matches place players against rival competitors. Weapons and armor collections allow different approaches to combat. Each fighting style has its own demands and becomes more effective through practice, victories, and leveling. Arena bouts may feature randomly changing weather. In multiplayer, the winner can receive a choice concerning the defeated gladiator's lasting fate.
