Players take the roles of rogue pilots working through 9 missions amid a war involving 4 factions. Combat pits the crew against alien swarms, Federation forces and rival pirate gangs. Missions combine shooting with collecting perks and loot. Rewards can be used to craft and upgrade ships, while spacecraft loadouts can be customized with different combinations. Roles include taking hits, supporting teammates by rescuing them, and dealing damage with an agile ship. The story follows a wanted pilot and a team of Raiders caught between paid missions and a wider conflict in the Far Reach.
