Our take on Rewind 99
Instead of centering on combat or a conventional retail simulator, the game combines video-store administration with film production, city exploration, and illicit side businesses. Its premise turns a declining rental shop into the starting point for a broader, risk-driven empire.
What is Rewind 99?
Manage the town’s last video rental store while competing with streaming service RentNet.
Order movies, snacks, toys, and collectibles, stock shelves, handle customers, hire employees, automate operations, and customize the shop. Expand the business by producing and releasing original films, then use the resulting empire to compete with RentNet. Outside the store, explore a low-poly city on foot or by scooter, follow NPC schedules, find secrets, and pursue side activities including fight clubs, scratcher tickets, and a claw machine. The game supports solo play. Co-op is temporarily disabled in the main build, while the Legacy branch provides access to the June build with co-op for up to 4 players.
