Our take on Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye
Its focus on narrative investigation and environmental puzzles leaves less room for combat, open-ended exploration, or systems built around repeated play. The standalone structure also places the emphasis on one contained story rather than a broader ongoing game world.
What is Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye?
Play as Philip Log, a robo-detective searching for Jenny Montage in a post-apocalyptic city inhabited by robots.
This standalone VR adventure uses extendable arms to collect distant objects, overcome obstacles, and move the story forward. Investigation includes sinister mysteries, logic puzzles, hidden jokes, and travel between different environments. New rotation mechanics build on interactions from the first game, while the story takes place one year after the events of The Secret of Retropolis. The game combines narrative scenes with hand-painted 3D environments and character animation. It can be experienced as a self-contained adventure without playing the earlier title.
