Our take on REPLIKATOR
The focus on repeated, procedurally generated combat runs trades fixed level structure for variation. That choice also makes exploration and encounters less predictable, while permanent upgrades provide continuity between deaths.
What is REPLIKATOR?
Play as one of four galactic mercenaries in a top-down twin-stick shooter set in an abandoned space science complex.
Move constantly, aim at robot and ectoplasmic enemies, and navigate traps during combat. Each run generates room layouts, opponents, hazards, weapons, and items procedurally. Exploration reveals upgrade stations and story details about the REPLIKATOR project. Death contributes to progression through permanent improvements for the selected character and hub ship. The playable mercenaries have different starting traits, favored weapons, and special techniques, including a space raccoon. The game combines repeated combat runs with character upgrades and an unfolding mystery.

REPLIKATOR compared to similar games
Abyssus also combines shooting with roguelite progression, but its description centers on multiplayer runs through hand-crafted levels and weapon refitting with ancient technologies. REPLIKATOR instead focuses on procedural generation, character-specific traits, and permanent improvements for characters and a hub ship.
