Our take on Refidenptio
The defining mechanic is color matching: weapons have two colored sides, and enemies must be struck with the corresponding side. Black-and-white enemies form an exception, allowing either attack color.
What is Refidenptio?
Refidenptio is a boomer-shooter with 1-bit pixel art, maze-like maps, and a story set inside the mind of a boy facing fears and traumas.
Its combat mechanic links enemy colors to weapon sides: attacks must match the enemy’s color, while black-and-white enemies can be hit with either side. Campaign exploration includes traps, platforms, doors, bridges, crossroads, story fragments, and letters from Alice. A Bestiary records encountered monsters, with poems appearing after multiple monsters of the same type are eliminated. The game also includes an endless mode built around surviving successive enemy hordes and seeing how many Eclipses can be endured. The vendor lists planned additions including mobility mechanics, cutscenes, stages, weapons, bosses, improvement cards, secrets, visual effects, and gamepad support.
