Our take on Redaxium
The defining constraint is the six-day divine deadline: continued survival requires appeasing God at regular intervals while the wider objective remains closing time-space ruptures.
What is Redaxium?
Redaxium is a first-person, 3D RPG set in a post-industrial society divided among humans, hybrids, and robots.
Exploration covers large terrains with abstract textures, while turn-based battles can be preceded by external attacks or advantages. Survival is tied to the day-and-night cycle, and time can be advanced when conditions allow. Mining, digging, fishing, and farming provide routes to items. Character creation includes personal details, stats, attributes, skills, equipment, and build choices. Players can recruit and customize companions, interact with humanoid NPCs, join factions, encounter randomized missions, and face more than 80 random events. Victory requires sealing time-space ruptures, while divine appeasement is required every 6 days.
How Redaxium plays
- 01Precombat Attacks
- External weapons can damage enemies or provide an advantage before turn-based combat begins.
- 02Survival Time Cycle
- Day and night alter survival-related statistics, with time advancement available under limited conditions.
- 03Resource Activities
- Mining, digging, fishing, and farming offer different ways to obtain certain items.
- 04Character Builds
- Stats, attributes, and roleplaying or combat skills support melee, elemental, and weapon-focused approaches.
- 05Companion Customization
- Recruitable companions can be customized alongside the player character.
- 06Hardcore Rules
- Hardcore mode invalidates a save when the character dies, while resurrection mode allows respawning.
- 07Random Encounters
- The game includes more than 80 random encounters and randomized mission providers.
Redaxium compared to similar games
Redaxium combines first-person exploration, turn-based combat, survival effects, resource activities, faction systems, and randomized encounters. Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition is presented around an unconventional story and characters, while Back to the Dawn centers on surviving, investigating, and escaping a maximum-security prison.
