Realpolitiks is a real-time grand strategy game about leading a contemporary country.
Players use diplomacy, espionage, military power, and economic strength to manage international affairs and respond to crises. Scenarios draw on current geopolitical borders and include terrorism, financial crises, natural disasters, medical epidemics, the disintegration of the European Union, and the aftermath of World War III. Three political systems—democracy, authoritarianism, and totalitarianism—shape a country's development and relations with other nations. The whole-world sandbox allows territorial expansion, including overseas colonies, and attempts to spread civilization into outer space. Players make moral and ethical decisions while pursuing influence, economic and technological development, and military power. A broad decision tree, mini-scenarios, and random events contribute to replay value.
