- Players who want a narrowly focused combat RPG may find the 16 professions and building systems distracting
- Players looking for a purely peaceful farming game may not enjoy the monsters, dungeons, and combat
- Players who prefer a different visual style may not want a 2D pixel-art RPG
Our take on Realms of Magic
The defining structure is the choice between dangerous adventuring and a quieter life built around 16 professions, allowing combat, farming, gathering, crafting, and house construction to occupy the same character.
What is Realms of Magic?
Realms of Magic is a 2D action RPG set in the fantasy Old Kingdom.
Players create a character from 9 races and develop one of 7 skill trees while choosing between combat-focused and quieter roles. The game combines quests, exploration, monsters, dungeons, spells, weapons, traps, and loot with resource gathering, crafting, farming, cooking, mining, and house or farm construction. Sixteen professions support different approaches, including alchemy, tailoring, and lumberjacking. Players can meet communities, discover written lore, and pursue combinations of abilities such as fire and ice magic or necromancy. The open-world structure presents villages, graveyards, dungeons, and other fantasy locations in a pixel-art setting.
