Reality Break treats action RPG rules as editable systems. Rather than limiting customization to equipment and abilities, it also lets players alter mission conditions, item rarity, ship capacity, and analysis speed as part of progression.
What is Reality Break?
Reality Break is a science-fiction action RPG about a mercenary who gains the ability to alter reality.
Its Rewrite mechanic can change equipment attributes, item rarity, mission timers, difficulty, ship capacity, and other gameplay elements, with each change carrying a cost. The game uses an optional roguelite structure across multiple timelines. Resetting a timeline grants Reality Points for talents that affect current and future pilots. Players upgrade a ship, collect loot, analyze items in real time, activate Codex set bonuses, and add equipment such as Drones. An evolving storyline explores the source and purpose of the protagonist’s powers while later timelines change scenarios, threats, and available systems.

- Resetting a timeline awards Reality Points that purchase talents affecting present and later pilots.

- A real-time Analysis system unlocks item Discoveries and can itself be altered to change its speed.

- Collecting defined item groups activates set bonuses, while Codex upgrades scale them with loot rarity.

- The ship can receive new upgrade slots and equipment types, including Drones with distinct bonuses.
