Surs is a story-focused 2D side-scrolling shooter set in a futuristic world. Players follow paranormal detective Jessie Sullivan after an incident disrupts a Re. Surs processing facility in Modern-City. The campaign travels through Modern-City, Nexus Tower laboratories, Saxara-City’s pyramids, and abandoned areas of Enjoy-City. Combat combines shooting, dashing, kicking, hacking, multiple weapons, and battles against bosses and enemy groups. Three heroes have different abilities: Jessie can dash rapidly, Basil B uses control effects, and Helga Hoft moves vertically with support from a drone turret. Heroes can be exchanged during encounters, with ultimate abilities available for large attacks. The story centers on Re. Surs dark energy and an invasion by interdimensional demons.
