Our take on Ratings War
Rather than centering combat, character levels, or conventional questing, this RPG places reporting decisions at the core. Progress comes through choosing what to reveal, how to frame it, and whether professional ambition outweighs journalistic integrity.
What is Ratings War?
Play an 80,000-word interactive novel set in dystopian New Angeles in 2061.
As a reporter with cybernetic eyes, record events, investigate murders, expose corruption, and compete with rival journalists for audience share. Choices determine how stories are presented, whether ambition or integrity guides reporting, and whether to follow a network’s rules or work independently. The story includes a human trafficking investigation, an underground organ farm escape, and a criminal conspiracy. Character options include male, female, and non-binary protagonists, with straight, gay, and bisexual romance paths. The game is entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects.
