Our take on Railroader
The focus on railway operations gives up the immediacy of action-oriented play. Much of the experience centers on repeated switching, scheduling, signaling, and service decisions rather than a changing narrative or varied combat encounters.
What is Railroader?
Operate a railroad in Appalachia during the transition from steam to diesel.
Direct freight cars from interchange points to nearby industries, run passenger services across mountainous routes, and reinvest delivery earnings in engines, coaches, track extensions, and other railway improvements. Work can range from a small mixed-train schedule to organized multiplayer assignments. AI engineers may haul manifest freight between yards or handle locomotive controls while switching. Dispatchers can oversee traffic with ABS and CTC signaling, including a reproduction of a US&S centralized traffic-control panel. Personalization covers tender and coach lettering, locomotive and car colors, and whistle selections. Play alone or cooperatively, choosing customer contracts that match the railroad’s available capacity.
How Railroader plays

- 03AI Engineers
- AI-controlled engineers can handle manifest freight between yards or locomotive controls during switching work.
- 04Dispatcher Operations

- 05Railroad Customization
- Tender and coach lettering, paint colors, and whistles can be changed.
- 06Multiplayer Railroading
- Operations can include multiplayer servers with assigned jobs and organized crews.
