Our take on Radical Spectrum: Volume 1
The color-matching system adds planning to the shooting, but it also makes each shot depend on collecting three matching blocks. Clearing the grid for points further narrows the available colors, trading immediate score progress for fewer options later.
What is Radical Spectrum: Volume 1?
Play as Doc DuBrane and use the Prisma Cannon to fight aliens invading the future city of Nucleusport.
Absorb radiation dropped by alien ships, then collect three blocks of the same color to fire. The arcade-style shooter increases in speed and difficulty as play continues. Black radiation adds a competing threat: if it reaches the ground or Doc, the game ends. Players choose whether to target UFOs or stop the black block moving through the grid. Collecting a color without checking what is next can limit later choices, while shooting at the wrong moment can leave black radiation unaddressed. Destroying more of the grid for a higher score also reduces the available collection options.
How Radical Spectrum: Volume 1 plays

- 02Escalating challenge
