Our take on Rack N Ruin
Rather than centering a heroic adventurer, the game casts a destructive demon as its protagonist. Its action-adventure structure also incorporates arcade-shooter bullet patterns and lets the setting deteriorate into a hellish version of itself.
What is Rack N Ruin?
Rack N Ruin combines top-down action adventure with arcade-shooter combat.
Players guide Rack, a demon wizard attempting to trigger the Apocalypse, across an open world that changes from an enchanted land into a hellish one. Combat includes four elemental weapons, 24 spells, items, and contraptions, with item interactions shaped by weapon type. The game features bullet patterns, titanic bosses, more than 30 enemy types, themed dungeons, and puzzles. Exploration includes castles, prisons, caves, and other locations, with more than 100 secrets to discover. Souls collected from townsfolk can be sold to an ancient wizard to upgrade weapons.
