Our take on Pyramid Runner
The defining mechanic is the temporary hole: the digging stick opens routes and traps enemies, but each opening later closes and buries anything left inside. Progress depends on timing movement around this changing floor rather than simply clearing obstacles.
What is Pyramid Runner?
Pyramid Runner is an arcade puzzle game set across ancient pyramids, dark dungeons, and Mars.
Each level requires collecting every gold bar. A digging stick lets the player remove brick sections from the floor and create holes leading to hidden areas. Enemies can become trapped in these openings, allowing the player to cross above them temporarily. The holes eventually close again, burying anything still inside. The game includes two worlds intended for different experience levels, online rankings for level completion times, Steam Workshop content, and a level editor. Players can make and share custom stages with others.
How Pyramid Runner plays
- 01Temporary Floor Holes
- Removed floor sections close after a period, affecting both trapped enemies and anyone standing inside.
- 02Enemy Traps
- Mummies and gorillas can be held in dug openings long enough for the player to cross above them.
- 03Time Rankings
- Every level records completion times on an online leaderboard.
- 04Custom Level Creation
- An included editor supports making stages and sharing them with other players.
- 05Workshop Worlds
- Steam Workshop provides access to player-created game worlds.
