Our take on Puke
Instead of framing the player as a detective who resolves the central mystery, the game assigns the role of a journalist who records events without being sent to solve them. Observation, listening, and survival replace conventional investigation-focused action.
What is Puke?
Puke casts the player as a journalist sent to investigate Frieden, a remote and unsettling town.
The central task is observation: attend the priest’s sermons, listen to workers and employers, document events, and follow rumors surrounding the town. The journalist is not sent to solve the mystery, but to report on it. Residents react poorly to newcomers, while the player must remain alert to people watching them. The game has four stages; the first three are in Early Access and are still being developed. Choices and movement affect the journalist’s fate, with the wider objective of making it home safely after an extended stay in Frieden.
How Puke plays

- 03Observation Threats
- The journalist must watch others while remaining aware that people in Frieden may also be watching them.
