RPGIs Project: AHNO's Ark worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy Go-like tactical positioning and want combat built around surrounding enemy pieces.
- Roguelite fans who want random events and diverging abilities to shape survival decisions.
- RPG players interested in leading a tribe through a post-apocalyptic mystery.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a combat system focused on ranged attacks or direct damage rather than encirclement.
- Players who prefer a linear, predictable run may find random events and branching abilities disruptive.
- Players looking for a conventional fantasy RPG setting may not want a world shaped by war and pollution.
Our take on Project: AHNO's Ark
The focus on encirclement gives combat a clear tactical premise, but also narrows the range of strategies described: defeating enemies centers on surrounding them rather than a broader set of combat approaches.
What is Project: AHNO's Ark?
This tactical RPG combines elements of Go with roguelite features.
Players lead a tribe in a future where war and pollution have devastated the world, and must protect their people while uncovering the truth behind a deadly game organized by Yarno, a self-proclaimed goddess with a laboratory in the snowy wilderness. Combat centers on surrounding enemy pieces with pieces, obstacles, and summons to eliminate them instantly, including bosses. The encirclement tactic can also work against multiple opponents at once. Random events and diverging abilities shape decisions as players try to survive in a setting of mutual destruction.
