SimulationIs Primitier worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR players who prefer open-ended crafting to fixed tool progression
- Simulation fans who want to construct physical vehicles and machinery
- Creative explorers who enjoy experimenting with objects in generated worlds
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a structured story campaign may find the open-ended sandbox format too loose
- Players wanting menu-based crafting may not enjoy physically constructing tools and machines
- Players without VR equipment cannot play this VR-only game
Our take on Primitier
The store presentation foregrounds a broad physics sandbox and unrestricted construction, while the VR-only requirement receives less emphasis. The appeal therefore depends on having compatible VR equipment, not merely an interest in crafting or simulation.
What is Primitier?
Create tools and machinery in a VR sandbox where objects can be cut, joined, and manipulated through physics.
Striking a tree with a stone can produce a piece of wood, which can be combined with the stone to make an axe. Similar crafting applies to many objects found in the world. Explore a procedurally generated environment, encounter enemies, and construct weapons for defense. Physical behavior affects crafted items, including an axe’s swing and destructive force according to its handle and stone.
Machines such as carts and airplanes can also be built. The simulation includes air resistance, lift, and buoyancy. VRM avatar files can be imported, although some are unsupported. Gameplay can be recorded from a third-person camera view on a PC screen.
How Primitier plays
- 01Object-Based Crafting
- Cut and join materials found in the environment to produce tools such as stone axes.
- 02Physical Machines
- Construct vehicles including carts and airplanes that function through simulated physics.
- 03Procedural Exploration
- Travel through a generated world where enemies can appear during exploration.
- 04Aerodynamic Simulation
- Objects are affected by air resistance, lift, and buoyancy.
- 05Avatar Importing
- Load VRM avatar files, with support varying between individual files, or hide the avatar.
- 06Third-Person Recording
- Use the in-game camera to display gameplay from a third-person angle on the computer screen.
