Our take on Prickle
Instead of keeping the player character separate from collected objects, Prickle turns rescued hoglets into an attached, expanding formation. The group’s changing size and shape replace a more static puzzle piece, making the order of collection part of navigating each level.
What is Prickle?
Prickle is a grid-based puzzle game in which a father hedgehog gathers scattered hoglets and brings them home.
Collected hoglets attach to the father and to one another, creating a growing Tetris-like shape called a Prickle. As the group expands, it becomes harder to pass through narrow spaces in the hedge, making the order of collection part of each puzzle. The game uses a Sokoban-style structure across more than 40 levels set in four seasons. Each season presents different challenges and unique mechanics while keeping the goal of forming the group and guiding it home.
How Prickle plays
- 01Growing Hoglet Formation
- Each rescued child joins the father and the other children, changing the shape that must pass through the level.
- 02Four Seasonal Settings
- More than 40 levels are distributed across four seasons, with different challenges and mechanics.
- 03Narrow Hedge Routes
- Larger groups have more difficulty fitting through confined spaces, making collection order important.
