Our take on Presence
Fear comes primarily from sound, unsettling situations, and the absence of a clearly shown threat, leaving the player’s imagination to shape the horror.
What is Presence?
Presence follows Andrey Shabanov’s mother as she arrives at his boarding school to take him home for the weekend.
The school initially appears ordinary, but no one comes to meet her. Progress takes place within one medium-sized boarding school, where keys and other items are needed to clear obstacles and reach further areas. The story is delivered mainly through notes found during exploration. Instead of relying heavily on conventional visual scares, the game builds tension through sound effects, unsettling situations, and an oppressive atmosphere. With no clearly presented visual threat, the horror leaves room for the player’s imagination to supply the images that create fear.
