Our take on POLE VAULT
The defining structure is a single huge tower: pole placement, release timing, platform catches, and fall bounces all serve one ascent to the apex.
What is POLE VAULT?
POLE VAULT is a precision platformer about a stretchy newt who climbs one huge tower using a pole.
A cursor at the pole’s end controls where it touches the ground. While moving, place the pole, time the release, and launch the newt through the air. The climb requires catching the edges of platforms and using a pole bounce directly after a fall to maintain speed. Reaching the tower’s apex marks victory, and the game evaluates the performance at that point. Its structure centers on vertical movement through a single tower, with progress determined by pole placement, release timing, aerial control, platform catches, and momentum-preserving bounces.
How POLE VAULT plays
- 01Cursor-Controlled Pole
- The pole’s tip is directed with a cursor to set its contact point before launching.
- 02Timed Launches
- Movement depends on releasing the pole at the right moment to send the newt upward.
- 03Platform Edge Catches
- The newt can catch platform edges while moving through the air.
- 04Fall Bounces
- A bounce can follow a fall directly, allowing the climb to retain speed.
