Our take on Poker Squadrons
The bounce point arrives during Form Up, when players arrange four completed poker hands against incoming enemy hands, some with concealed cards. Anyone expecting to pilot aircraft or make flight decisions will hit that boundary immediately: combat is resolved through poker matchups instead.
What is Poker Squadrons?
Poker Squadrons is a single-player card game based on the Battle of Britain.
The player commands a British Royal Air Force fighter squadron against a computer-controlled German Luftwaffe opponent. Both sides draw from one shared 52-card deck while assembling four poker hands for combat. Each stage has four phases: drawing and building hands, using secret cards when available, arranging matchups against enemy hands, and resolving four contests. Some opposing cards stay hidden until combat. Clearing a stage requires at least three matchup wins. The campaign contains 18 stages. Shuffled cards and the computer opponent create different challenges across playthroughs. Secret cards become available from stage 3 onward.
