Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a rhythm game built around a single fixed lane format may hit a wall when Plus modes add side notes.
- Players wanting only short arcade sessions may find the character affinity, research tasks, quests, and story systems distracting from note play.
- Players who do not want Korean-voiced story scenes may not fit the presentation.
Our take on PLATiNA :: LAB
Players focused only on note timing may bounce when the game moves beyond song play into Affinity rewards, player-score comparisons, Research Notes, Quests, and a voiced story. These additional systems are part of the structure around the rhythm tracks.
What is PLATiNA :: LAB?
PLATiNA :: LAB is a rhythm game built around hitting falling notes in time with music.
Tracks use four or six lanes, with three difficulty levels: EASY, HARD, and OVER. 4PLUS and 6PLUS modes add notes at both sides for a more demanding layout. The soundtrack contains over 120 playable tracks spanning Vocaloid, anime pop, metal, jazz fusion, hardcore, game and anime music, and original songs. Outside performances, players can increase Affinity with database-inspired characters to receive special rewards, follow other players and compare scores, and complete Research Notes and Quests. The story follows a Decoder working with researchers to restore an encrypted Data World, with full Korean voice acting for the characters.
