Rather than following a fixed platform-action structure, the game makes physical instability part of traversal, combat, and failure. Its separate planetoids can also be edited and shared, replacing a single prescribed campaign with player-built scenarios.
What is Planetoid Pioneers?
Planetoid Pioneers is a cooperative sci-fi action adventure set across circular worlds in the asteroid belt beyond Mars.
Players control astronauts through physics-driven movement, combat, crafting, traps, enemies, and environmental hazards, with couch co-op and player-versus-player modes. Challenges can have multiple creative solutions, while failures may involve falling, losing limbs, or having equipment stolen. Each planetoid functions as a separate game mode that can be edited and shared. Built-in editors and game-development tools allow players to construct their own planetoids and create custom scenarios. The standard edition includes these editors. A Contributor Edition also provides access to a Discord community for content sharing, collaboration, and direct developer discussion.
