Our take on Plague Breaker
Permanent death gives the runs clear stakes, but a character's death ends that attempt. The class combinations and custom class creator offer build choices, while the reset on death may be a constraint for players who prefer uninterrupted character progression.
What is Plague Breaker?
Choose a class and climb a procedurally generated castle populated by undead monsters and plague doctors.
Explore floors, collect weapons and magic items, meet traders, and prepare for a boss fight. Defeating a boss advances the character and opens a branching skill tree. Abilities from different class trees can be combined, and a Class Creator lets players build a custom class using abilities, weapons, and items found in previous runs. Death is permanent.
Later runs can unlock additional classes and items. Local split-screen co-op lets two players explore together, develop their own characters, and combine party choices. The game includes four unlockable classes, more than 25 enemies, six bosses, 102 magic items, over 50 abilities, and six weapon types. Controller support and rebindable keys are also included.
