Our take on Pit of Evil

The game puts much of its focus on story and dialogue, leaving less emphasis on open-ended exploration. Its active-time battles also trade a slower combat pace for encounters that use the ATB system.

What is Pit of Evil?

Barry, Arlene, and Nellie return to the Pit of Evil, where their friend Fynn was lost.

After the group becomes separated, Barry falls into the pit too. This RPG combines a mystery story and character connections with dramatic cut-scenes and flashbacks. Its combat uses an active-time battle system, and encounters take place on the map. Dungeons include puzzles, while boss fights add set-piece battles. An interactive world map and journal are also included. The re-release expanded the story and dialogue from 15,000 to 40,000 words. A demo contains the first chapter, and its save files are compatible with the full game.
