Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who expect continuous direct control during combat will hit the game's automated-action system.

- Players looking for a large narrative campaign may find the described storyline relatively small.
Our take on Partial Control
The bounce point arrives when time resumes: decisions are locked in, the character acts automatically, and the outcome must be watched rather than corrected in real time. The harshest wall comes in Chaotic Universes, where losing all lives sends a run back to the start of 26 levels.
What is Partial Control?
Partial Control is a strategy and simulation game set aboard a cyborg spacecraft after a signal hijacks the crew's brains.
Most of the crew begins attacking one another, while the player retains limited control. Gameplay alternates between paused decision points and periods when the character acts automatically; decisions are made before time resumes, then the results must be observed until another choice becomes available. The campaign contains 81 levels with a short storyline. Chaotic Universes adds five randomly generated universes of 26 levels each, with increasingly difficult runs and no progress saving during an attempt. Sandbox mode allows custom level creation, saved replays, and attempts to replay scenarios.
How Partial Control plays
- 01Timed decision system
- Choices can be made while action is paused, after which the character follows an automated sequence until another decision point.
- 0281-level campaign
- The main campaign combines its levels with a short story set in a dark future.
- 03Chaotic Universes
- Five progressively harder modes generate new level layouts, with 26 stages in each universe and a full restart after losing all lives.
- 04Custom level creation
- Sandbox lets players place elements to build combat scenarios, save them, and watch or retry recorded runs.
