Our take on Palladium
The compact campaign keeps the focus on linked stages and exploration, but limits the current experience to about 4 and a half hours. Its control options also exclude controller support for now, though keyboard keys can be rebound.
What is Palladium?
Palladium combines classic first-person shooting with metroidvania exploration across a tutorial and 10 linked stages, offering roughly four and a half hours of play.
Battles emphasize movement, positioning, dodging, and avoiding projectile attacks instead of instant-hit weapons. Its current early-access build includes 12 enemy varieties and six weapon forms, covering pistols, shotguns, an SMG, and a grenade launcher. Environmental sounds and visual details point toward secrets involving particular weapons, simple platforming, switches, or brief mazes. Exploration uncovers upgrades that alter weapon functions or improve mobility. Keys, tools, and upgrades unlock passages between areas that can be revisited. The game includes local and overall maps, autosaving, bunny hopping, customizable controls, lore tomes, and music that shifts during high-tension scenes.
