Our take on Overlord™: Raising Hell
Rather than casting players as a heroic champion, the game makes them the dark ruler of the setting. Its central structure replaces party-based adventuring with direct control of a mischievous minion army and conquest driven by corruption.
What is Overlord™: Raising Hell?
Overlord™: Raising Hell is a single-player fantasy action adventure about commanding an Overlord and a horde of impish Minions while conquering five kingdoms: Mellow Hills, Evernight, Heaven’s Peak, the Golden Halls, and the Ruborian Desert.
After each kingdom falls, a portal opens to a related abyss containing undead enemies, fallen rulers, and captured peasants. The game adds seven online multiplayer maps, including competitive objectives such as capturing a maiden and defending the Overlord’s tower from enemy waves. Players can pursue tyranny, gather gold and power, direct Minions to destroy or steal, and confront heroes, demonic Halflings, and rabid unicorns.
How Overlord™: Raising Hell plays
- 01Minion Command
- An army of loyal impish creatures can be directed to fight, destroy, steal, and carry out orders.
- 02Five Kingdoms
- The conquest spans Mellow Hills, Evernight, Heaven’s Peak, the Golden Halls, and the Ruborian Desert.
- 03Abyssal Levels
- Portals appear after kingdom conquests and lead to underworld areas containing undead enemies, fallen rulers, and abducted peasants.
- 04Online Multiplayer
- The included challenge content adds seven maps with objectives such as taking a maiden or defending a tower against attacking waves.
