Our take on Outside the Window
The focused building format gives up broader management depth and varied gameplay systems. Its appeal rests on arranging a cityscape, with Zen and Hell modes providing different scoring expectations rather than a wide range of activities.
What is Outside the Window?
Outside the Window is a pixel-art city builder centered on placing houses and other bricks piece by piece.
Players choose a brick group that determines the next 5 randomly selected bricks, then continue through levels as each area fills. Zen Mode removes score requirements for progression. Hell Mode assigns different scores when brick types make contact. The game also describes Standard Mode with tier goals, while the included modes are identified as Zen and Hell. After building a cityscape, the game provides a quiet way to view the result.
