Our take on Osylla
The simple interface keeps the focus on exploration and item collection, but gives up the layered menus and systems found in games built around equipment, combat, or extensive character management.
What is Osylla?
Osylla is a single-player horror game based on real events.
Marzia tries to get medical care for her mother, Lily, after alcohol use leads to violent behavior toward her daughters. The household is in danger, and the game centers on escaping the house while assisting family members. Players collect items to help Marzia’s sister escape and support the effort to get help for Lily. Items appear procedurally across the map, changing their placement between playthroughs. The game uses a simple interface intended to keep attention on the surrounding experience rather than interface elements. Its story focuses on a family dealing with alcohol misuse, violence, and the attempt to reach medical and support services.
How Osylla plays
- 01Item-based objectives
- Collected objects are used to assist the sister’s escape and support efforts to get medical help for the mother.
- 02Variable item placement
- The locations of items are generated procedurally across the map.
- 03Household danger
- The story follows two daughters dealing with their mother’s violent behavior after she begins drinking heavily.
