Our take on Orogenesis
The focus on free exploration and a large tiled map gives the game room for discovery, but it also makes progression less tightly directed. Players seeking a compact, linear adventure may find the open structure less focused.
What is Orogenesis?
Orogenesis is an RPG about exploring a distorted, surreal world after a mountain rises from the ground and four orbs fall from the sky.
As DUDE, players travel with Pipe and Tea to collect the orbs and uncover the mountain’s secrets. Exploration takes place across an 8x8 tiled map with dungeons, side-quests, strange characters, and unusual locations. Turn-based combat features demons and other abstract enemies, with animated battle sequences. The game uses pixel-art visuals inspired by older games and includes conversations and interactions with several dozen eccentric inhabitants. Its story combines cosmic horror, bizarre humor, and a journey through a world altered by the mountain’s arrival.
