Our take on Ooze Keeper
The bounce point arrives when rent is due: players must have converted gathered resources into enough gold, or the run ends. Those who dislike deadline-driven economy management may stop there, even if the breeding and building systems appeal.
What is Ooze Keeper?
Ooze Keeper is a tactical roguelike about building and managing a slime farm.
Starting on one island with a small group of slimes, players place and remove structures to collect drops and perform tasks. Different slime types have distinct traits and abilities, while breeding can produce rare varieties with additional resource-generating options. Gathered materials can be sold for gold coins, which fund expansions and recurring rent payments. Missing rent ends the run. Every few days, players select from modifiers that change the available opportunities and challenges, requiring adjustments to the farm’s layout, slime breeding, and resource use.
How Ooze Keeper plays
- 01Farm construction
- Structures support resource collection and other tasks, so their placement affects how the island operates.
- 02Slime breeding
- Combining slimes can produce uncommon varieties with new ways to generate resources.
- 03Rent deadline
- Gold from sold resources must cover recurring rent or the current empire is lost.
- 04Changing modifiers
- Periodic choices introduce effects that can create opportunities or new difficulties.
