Our take on Oh Deer
Rather than giving every participant the same combat role, the game divides the match between one hunter and several deer. Its central subversion is visual uncertainty: the hunter must decide whether an animal is another player or part of the surrounding AI herd.
What is Oh Deer?
Oh Deer is a multiplayer hide-and-seek game for one hunter and up to four deer players.
The hunter searches the forest using sound, gadgets, and skill, attempting to identify and eliminate player-controlled deer before nightfall. Deer hide among AI-controlled animals scattered across maps, blending into the herd to avoid detection. They must also eat to manage hunger, while choosing when to feed without exposing themselves. Forest environments include trees, bushes, flowers, shade, and potential ambush locations. The central challenge for the hunter is distinguishing real players from computer-controlled deer.
