Our take on Ocean Planet
The store emphasis on atmosphere and immersion can make the experience sound broader than it is. The core activity remains jumping and climbing through one very long main map, with Challenge Mode providing the main structural variation.
What is Ocean Planet?
Ocean Planet is a Foddian platformer centered on jumping and climbing through a lengthy main map with atmospheric visuals and ambience.
The main mode contains more than 12 ocean-themed sections, including a beach, shipwreck, pirate base, aquarium, outer space, spaceship, and cockpit. Its difficulty comes from navigating the map rather than from deliberately frustrating controls. Challenge Mode adds platforming levels that use mechanics from the main game in different ways, with later stages becoming increasingly difficult. Speedrunners can compete on two leaderboards: one for the best combined time across the main game and challenge levels, and another ranking players by their number of main-game wins.
How Ocean Planet plays
- 01Ocean-Themed Sections
- The main game includes more than 12 areas, ranging from an octopus base and power plant to an aquarium, spaceship, and cockpit.
- 02Challenge Mode
- Separate platforming levels reuse main-game mechanics in different ways, with later challenges becoming more difficult.
- 03Speedrun Rankings
- One leaderboard tracks combined completion time, while another ranks players by main-game wins.
