Teams use ghost-hunting equipment and a Ghostpedia to locate the ghost, identify its type, and determine how to exorcise it. Investigations emphasize contextual signs, the ghost’s appearance, and its interactions with the environment rather than relying mainly on specific item clues. The game includes over 55 ghost interactions, ranging from subtle movements to destructive events. Ghosts can hear players and use knowledge of the house to block routes or trap them. Players can also speak to ghosts through a microphone, with the ghosts deciding how to respond. Equipment includes EMF readers, thermometers, and RemPods.
