- Players looking for large-scale multiplayer may find the four-player limit restrictive.
Our take on Phylakterion
The likely bounce point arrives when the investigation shifts from searching to interpretation. Players must use clues from tools and entity reactions to identify the vessel before performing the right ritual, so those wanting direct action may hit the wall there.
What is Phylakterion?
Phylakterion is an online co-op horror game for one to four players.
Teams enter haunted locations to locate a possessed object, determine the entity inhabiting it, and destroy the vessel through rituals. Seven investigation tools, including cameras, Geiger counters, and notebooks, provide clues about the item and its possessing entity. Players can test signs such as reflections, screams, and blood-written messages. Companions are available as dogs, cats, or birds, with each type affecting play style. A talent system lets players spend earned points on character customization. Death does not necessarily end a run: fallen players can remain useful to their team through the Afterlife feature.
