Our take on Observatory: A VR Variety Pack
The defining structure is its mix of four VR items at different development stages: two launch-ready entries and two opt-in prototypes, spanning games and a music video rather than one unified format.
What is Observatory: A VR Variety Pack?
Observatory is a VR pack with three games and a music video.
Its contents include a procedurally generated downhill racer, a space-horror game about microscopic submarines acting as medicine, an island puzzle game involving physics-based animals, and a realtime music video for an Icky Blossoms song. Two items are available by default, while two less-developed prototypes require opting in. The pack supports Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, along with standard gamepads, keyboard and mouse, and normal screens. A short eBook adds backstory connected to the developer's earlier games. Motion controllers are not required for the currently available games.
How Observatory: A VR Variety Pack plays

- 03Physics Animal Puzzles
- The Island combines a short puzzle sequence with a sandbox setting centered on unusual animals and their physical interactions.
- 04Realtime Music Video
- Phantasmagoria presents a space-travel sequence based on a description supplied by Icky Blossoms.
